Our Story
Born from a love for slow living, honest craft, and the warmth of candlelight.
Sadhna Candles started as a small experiment at a kitchen table — melting wax, blending fragrances, and discovering how much joy a single candle could bring to a room. What began as a hobby quickly became a calling.
The name Sadhna (साधना) means dedicated practice or devotion. It reflects our approach to every product we make — slow, intentional, and crafted with care. We believe that the objects we bring into our homes carry energy, and we pour positive intention into every batch.
Sadhna Candles is the work of Divya Gupta, a self-taught chandler and ceramicist based in India. After years of working in a fast-paced corporate world, Divya turned to craft as a form of creative meditation. She studied fragrance blending and ceramics independently, drawing inspiration from Indian botanicals, ancient rituals, and minimalist aesthetics.
Every candle and every ceramic piece you receive has passed through her hands — from raw material to finished product.
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches, never mass-produced.
We use soy and coconut wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and cotton wicks.
Our ceramics are wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, each one uniquely one-of-a-kind.
Each order is packed personally — we believe small gestures create big moments.
We create seasonal and signature fragrance collections inspired by Indian heritage — think sandalwood and jasmine, monsoon rain on dry earth, saffron and warm amber, and the quiet calm of a temple at dawn. Each fragrance is developed in-house and blended in small quantities to ensure freshness.
We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint. Our waxes are sustainably sourced, our packaging is minimal and recyclable, and we avoid unnecessary plastic. We are also exploring refill programmes so your favourite vessels can have a second life.
Every purchase from Sadhna Candles directly supports an independent maker. We are deeply grateful for every order, every kind review, and every photograph our customers share. You make this possible.
